Testimonial / More than just a robot company

What are some words that come to mind when you hear the phrase ‘robot company’? If you subscribe to a Luddite mindset, you might answer “There goes my job,” “Grab your pitchforks,” or “The 19th century really isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.” If, however, you’re someone who’s willing to step into the modern age, that phrase is likely to incite feelings of curiosity and wonder, if not full-fledged excitement.

Moreover, it takes the most open-minded of people to hear ‘robot company’ and expect ‘laptop repair.’ Yet laptop repair is exactly what Chicago Robotics did for me. A repair, mind you, that both Apple and some of the most reputable repair shops in the US weren’t willing to perform. A repair that gave me back core, basal functionality and saved me (a student) from having to pay an arm and a leg for a new high-end device.

And that’s honestly just the tip of the iceberg. If working at Chicago Robotics has taught me anything, it’s that the only limitation in life is the effort you choose to expend. If you want something, and are willing to put in the work, there really isn’t anything you can’t accomplish. After all, Jamie Laing (CRC’s founder) started the company with no knowledge of electronics. A desire to learn and the patience to see it through were all it took to turn a dream into a company at the forefront of robotics - all things considered, that’s pretty neat.
